Synopsis
Arthur's irresistible younger sister, D.W., rolls her way through gymnastics class.
Annotation
D.W., a young aardvark, discovers that lots of practice eventually helps her master the new routine in her gymnastics class.
Children's Literature
Arthur's little sister is on her own in this board book version of a popular story. D.W. wants to do a forward roll, but she can't master it in class. After lots of practice at home, D. W. masters the skill and demonstrates it in the next class. But that is just the beginning, as next she and her classmates have to master a backward roll. It is fun and toddlers just learning to control their own bodies in this complicated movement will delight in D.W.'s accomplishment. As always Marc Brown's humor is evident in all of the artwork.

Biography
Two things suggest that Arthur, the loveable star of children旧 books and the PBS series, may not be so fictitious after all: 1) Kids are known to call Marc Brown旧 house looking for their bespectacled friend and 2) Brown旧 third grade class picture -- according to many, a dead-ringer for the aardvark himself.
